Boundaries are such an interesting thing because they’re never static. They are living, breathing parts of us, evolving as we grow, soften, expand, and come to understand ourselves more deeply.
What you allowed in the past may no longer feel aligned in the present. And that’s not only okay, it is necessary. Take a moment to check in with yourself: Where is your energy being quietly drained? Where do you feel a pull, a heaviness, or a sense of obligation that leaves you tired afterwards? Your body always knows before your mind catches up.
Setting new boundaries isn’t about shutting people out. It’s about keeping your energy clean, grounded, and intact. When you’re constantly depleted by someone’s presence, conversation, or expectations, that’s your inner compass asking for a shift. You’re not here to be drained. You’re here to stay connected to your own centre.
And yes, boundaries can move. They can soften or tighten depending on the season you’re in. The key is clarity and being honest with what feels right for you now, not who you were years ago.
When you honour your boundaries, others learn to honour them too. There may be resistance, especially from people who were used to the previous version of you. That’s natural. They’re adjusting to the new shape of you, the stronger, more aligned you. Give them time, but stay rooted in what feels true.
Boundaries are an act of love for yourself, and ultimately for your relationships. They create the space for authenticity, safety, and mutual respect to grow.
If you’re feeling wobbly with your boundaries or unsure how to implement them gently but firmly, I’m here to remind you that you come first. Your energy, your peace, your inner truth. Your needs are valid, your limits are sacred, and your wellbeing matters.
