There are moments when someone’s words or actions land in a way that makes your chest tighten or your heart sink. It’s human to feel hurt, surprised, or thrown off centre. Your feelings are valid, they are messengers, not mistakes.
But once the feeling has arrived, a little space opens. A space where you remember that although you can’t always choose what happens, you can choose how you respond.
Every person carries their own tender history. Old wounds, unmet needs, and unspoken fears shape behaviours more than we realise. When someone reacts harshly, pulls away, or says something unkind, it’s usually because they’re moving from a place inside them that hasn’t yet healed.
Seeing this doesn’t excuse the behaviour, it simply frees you from holding it as your burden. When you look beyond the surface, you may notice their innocence, their intention, or even the places where they are still learning how to love.
And in that moment, you get to choose: Do I meet this from my wound, or from my wisdom? Do I carry this, or let it move through me? Do I react, or respond?
The power is never in controlling or blaming others, it’s in the quiet return to yourself and the softness you choose. It’s in the energy you decide to hold and the energy no one else can take from you unless you hand it over.
When you choose peace and honour your feelings, something shifts. You feel lighter, clearer and more rooted in who you are. And from that place, their behaviour no longer shapes your inner world. Your energy is yours again, your freedom returns.
Lead with your heart. Respond with intention. Choose peace whenever peace feels true.
