This quote is one of my favourites! If you are not enjoying aspects of your life, sometimes all it takes is a gentle pause and a little focus on where your mindset is. When we begin to work on how we see a situation, rather than trying to control the situation itself, we start to reclaim our sense of peace and power.
The truth is, so much of our reality is shaped not by what’s happening, but by the meaning we give to it. Our thoughts create feelings, and our feelings shape the energy we live in each day. When we shift the lens through which we view our life even slightly, the world begins to respond differently. Challenges can start to feel like invitations. Delays can reveal divine timing. And what once felt heavy can begin to lighten.
It’s not always easy, especially when emotions feel raw or when life feels uncertain. But this is where compassion for ourselves becomes the bridge. When we bring awareness to our thoughts without judgment, we open space for new perspectives to come through.
Start small. Notice one thing today that you’ve been seeing through a lens of frustration or lack. Then gently ask yourself, what else could this mean? What if this is guiding me toward something better? That question alone can shift your emotional state and reconnect you with gratitude. Not forced gratitude, but the kind that rises naturally when we see the hidden beauty in our experiences.
The power to feel lighter, more peaceful, and more at ease is always within you. It begins in the quiet choice to see differently. From that space, your outer world slowly begins to mirror the inner calm you’ve cultivated.
When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at truly do change.
